About the Property

Behrends Family Homestead is a family-operated luxury farmstead set on a 10-acre historic homestead along the Texas Wine Trail (Highway 290). Blending heritage hospitality with modern boutique lodging, the property features four restored guesthouses — ideal for romantic stays, group getaways, and milestone celebrations.

Our Brand Story and Heritage

Our great-grandfather Oswald Behrends is the original settler of our property. Our original 1914 farmhouse—now meticulously restored as The Oswald—is a nod to his pioneering spirit and the legacy he built.

Our family has called this land home for five generations, and each guesthouse is named after a family member who lived here and worked the land: Cora (our grandmother), Melvin (our uncle), Judy (our mother), and Oswald (our great-grandfather).

Our lineage places Behrends Family Homestead at the intersection of German heritage tourism, historic homestead architecture, rural farm life, and authentic Texas hospitality. We’re proud to be family-owned.
